(a) Unity is strength Essay – 150 Words
The proverb ‘Unity is Strength’ shows the value of unity in life. Unity helps us in enjoying every moment of life. In the good moments of a marriage, in the sad moments of sickness and death, it is the unity of the well wishers that makes the pleasure great and despair less. A united family, a united society or a united nation is always powerful. The story of the farmer and his quarrelling sons is well know to everyone. The sons could easily break each stick separately. But when the sticks were tied into a bundle, nobody could break the bundle. We can learn the same lesson from an army. The strength of an army is the strength of all the soldiers acting together as one. Similarly, the success of a hockey team or cricket team is the result of united efforts. We should follow this principle in our personal lives. We should never indulge in quarrel with our friends and relatives.

2. (C) At mother’s insistence, I had taken two days leave from the office and in the afternoon, I drove Nanukaka to the North Block’
Ans- These lines have been taken from “A pinch of snuff” which is written by Manohar Malgaonkar. His maternal uncle is coming to Delhi to see a minister. The author doesn’t want to take leave for him but his mother insisted him to take two day’s leave for him. His mother tells him that he will help Nanukaka in seeing the minister because he is an under secretary. So he drives him to North block.

3. (D) Whose white waterfall could bless Travellers in their last distress.

The given extract has been taken from the poem ‘Now The Leaves Are Falling Fast’, Composed by W.H. Auden. The poet says through the extract that the death provides silence and peace like white waterfalls who produce inner pleasant and peace, so gets the travellers of death.

4. Write a letter to your friend about your native village.(अपने मित्र को अपने पैतृक गाँव के बारे में एक पत्र लिखें।)

My dear Rohit,
At first take my heartiest felicitation and sincerely love. I hope you are well by the grace Almighty
Allah. Yesterday, I received your letter. In the letter I could know you have wanted to know about my
village. Now I am telling about that.

The name of native village X. it’s in the district of Comilla. It’s about 12 kilometers away from the
district headquarters. Ours is a village of 9 square kilometers with more than 5000 inhabitants. The
inhabitants are from different classes and professions. Most of the people are educated and serve in
different offices and educational institutions. The villagers follow their traditional culture. They are
religious, helpful and cooperative. They like to celebrate different occasions. They like to play various
games and sports. They also have a cultural mind. They’re very much peace-loving. Our village’s
developed and happy one. It’s place of different government and non-government offices. There are
schools, colleges, madrashahs, post office, telephone exchange, etc in the village.
No more today, please convey my best regards to uncle and aunt, and love to younger.

सबसे पहले तो मेरा हार्दिक अभिनन्दन और सच्चा प्यार लीजिए। मुझे आशा है कि सर्वशक्तिमान की कृपा से आप अच्छे होंगे । कल मुझे आपका पत्र मिला. पत्र से मुझे पता चला कि आप मेरे बारे में जानना चाहते थे
गाँव। अब मैं उसके बारे में बता रहा हूं.

पैतृक गांव एक्स का नाम। यह कोमिला जिले में है। से लगभग 12 किलोमीटर दूर है
जिला मुख्यालय. हमारा गाँव 5000 से अधिक निवासियों वाला 9 वर्ग किलोमीटर का एक गाँव है।
यहां के निवासी विभिन्न वर्गों और व्यवसायों से हैं। अधिकांश लोग शिक्षित हैं और सेवारत हैं
विभिन्न कार्यालय और शैक्षणिक संस्थान। ग्रामीण अपनी पारंपरिक संस्कृति का पालन करते हैं। वे हैं
धार्मिक, मददगार और सहयोगी। वे विभिन्न अवसरों का जश्न मनाना पसंद करते हैं। उन्हें तरह-तरह के खेल खेलना पसंद है
क्रीडा और खेल। उनके पास सांस्कृतिक सोच भी है. वे बहुत शांतिप्रिय हैं. हमारे गांव का
विकसित और खुशहाल। यह विभिन्न सरकारी एवं गैर सरकारी कार्यालयों का स्थान है। वहाँ हैं
गाँव में स्कूल, कॉलेज, मदरसे, डाकघर, टेलीफोन एक्सचेंज आदि।
